My friend left me a black lawn jockey when he died. Would it be considered impolite to use him in my yard?

There is a long story behind this little black guy and I have great sentimental attachment to him. Would putting him outside insult black people? That is certainly not my intention. I would like to get some sincere answers, not racial slurs please.
